HISA PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP - 2 July 2013

Join international experts, Mr Neil Gardner, President of Canada’s Health Informatics Association (COACH), and Dr Paul Woolman, Health Informatics Consultant at NHS National Services Scotland and lecturer at University of Edinburgh, at a half-day workshop on capacity building for eHealth in South Africa.

The workshop will address the urgent need for eHealth skills and will explore the following issues:

  • Who needs eHealth training?
  • What is an eHealth professional?
  • Establishing career paths for eHealth professionals.
  • Continuing education, short courses and distance learning.
  • Including eHealth in the curricula of medical schools and nursing colleges.
  • Post-graduate opportunities for eHealth research.
  • Opportunities for collaboration.
